IAS Elections 2018 - IAS Executive Board: Recommendations for Nominees
As chair of the International Atherosclerosis Society Nominating Committee, I would appreciate your recommendations for nominees for the slate of officers to serve on the International Atherosclerosis Society Executive Board. If elected, each individual will serve 3-year term.
Nominees will be accepted for the following positions:
a) President-Elect
b) Secretary
c) Treasurer
d) Members-at-Large (up to 9)
The officers selected for the slate will be presented in Toronto, Canada at the XVIII International Symposium on Atherosclerosis (June 9-12, 2018) for election by the IAS Council of Constituent Societies.
For your information, I have attached a list of the current officers whose 3-year terms will be completed December 31, 2018 (Attachment 1), as well as a brief description of the characteristics of ideal candidates (Attachment 2). The term of the newly elected Members will be January 1, 2019-December 31, 2021. Please note, however, that the candidate for President-Elect will serve 2019-2021, and then as President 2022-2024.
If elected, each individual will serve a 3-year term, beginning January 1 of the year following election to the office. The Secretary and Treasurer may be re-elected for a second term. Members-at-Large represent the many different geographic areas reflecting the make-up of the Society.
I would greatly appreciate receiving your suggestions for nominees for all of these positions if possible by returning the attached form (Attachment 3). Thank you and if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly.
With best personal regards,
Yours sincerely,
Philip Barter, MBBS, PhD, FRACP
Immediate Past President
